Here's the archive of CALA's programs for Fall 2006:
10th Annual Fair Trade Holiday Festival

The 10th festival was held Saturday, December 2, 9am to 4pm, MATC Downtown Education Center, 211 N Carroll Street, Madison. There were over 30 vendors, our excellent bake sale, and lots of happy shoppers. Mark your calendars now: it's always the first Saturday in December. In 2007 that will be December 1st!
At the Festival shoppers found Tibetan rugs, Nepali jewelry, Mexican ironwork and copper, Nicaraguan Pottery, Guatemalan textiles, Tanzanian note cards, Palestinian jewelry, Hmong textiles, fair trade coffee from around the world, fair trade chocolate, and many other wonderful gifts. All of the vendors at the Festival agree to the Fair Trade Federation guidelines, so you know that every purchase paid a living wage to the producer through a long-term sustainable relationship. No sweatshops!
The Fair Trade Holiday Festival is an educational event, in partnership with MATC's Global Horizons program. There were 3 workshops on Fair Trade:
11am: Renee Gasch from A Greater Gift/Serrv International on how international artisans benefit from the fair trade releationship vs regular commercial trade.
12noon: Students from the Madison Fair Trade Action Alliance on the negative effects of Free trade and how Fair trade presents a positive alternative.
1pm: Mike Moon from Just Coffee on how the Fair Trade Coffee movement empowers coffee growers worldwide.
